Common questions
How does a kid join?
On the kid’s device, open WishJar and tap I’m a kid — enter a join code, type your family’s six-letter code (Home → house icon), and pick their name. No account or password. If you ever want a new code, tap Get a new code — kids already signed in stay signed in.
A kid marked a task done but the points didn’t change.
That’s by design: points are awarded when a grown-up approves. Check Needs You on your dashboard, or the notification on your phone or watch, and tap Approve.
Can another parent or a grandparent help?
Yes. They sign up as a grown-up and ask to join with your family code; you approve the request from your dashboard. Every grown-up can approve tasks and gets notified. A code alone is never enough to get in.
What’s the difference between a reward and a goal?
A reward is something a kid can buy with points right now. A goal is a big wish you’ve turned into something to work toward over time — it fills up from the same effort, but spending points on small rewards never sets it back.
How do I manage or cancel the subscription?
On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → WishJar. One subscription covers the whole family. Cancelling keeps everything readable until the end of the period.
How do I remove a kid’s device, or delete everything?
Open the kid’s detail screen → Devices → Unlink. To delete your whole account: Home → house icon → Delete account. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that erases.
